The NHS Lung Cancer Screening Programme is now being offered to eligible patients aged 55–74 with a history of smoking. The aim is to detect lung cancer earlier, when treatment may be more effective. Eligible patients will be contacted directly and invited to take part in a Lung Health Check, which may include a low-dose CT scan.
